Anyone have experience with this heater?

Its just a 1500 watt electric heater - would not do much to warm up a tent - only 5000 BTUs - but I suppose it would help. The propex propane heater is 6500 BTUs I think and people use that.

Seems crazy to run a gasoline generator just to make heat...

This is a fantastic heater. Made in Finland where it gets cold. Very industrial, clean, simple, safe, cool to the touch design. It is not a consumer product. I have several. I run them continuously 24/7 for months at a time. Have used it as the only heater in a 20' (interior length) travel trailer for several years. Use two when it gets down into the teens. Went off for a wander of the west in January and returned in May to discover that I had left the heater on high. Trailer walls, floors, ceiling much more than warm to the touch. This particular heater was hardwired to a 100' #12 extension cord.
This heater is not "Its just another 1500 watt electric heater"
All other 1500 watt electric heaters are just another 1500 watt electric heater!
They are available for substantively less than the price the OP referenced and are also re-branded by a couple of companies.

Have any idea what the wattage draw would be? Wonder if a 2000 Honda would pull it? You know any of the re-brand names?

I'm not sleeping with a propane anything running and yea I have no problem burning 1/2 gallon of gasoline to stay warm.

The generator does allow you to move the combustion outside of the space you're heating, which can be a benefit, especially if the space isn't well ventilated. Although it is a bit less efficient (unless you need the surplus generator capacity for something else anyway).

The propex heater is available in a "toolbox" version which can be placed outside and have tubes running in and out of the tent/vehicle.

Not cheap but seems like it would be easy to build one after buying just the heater unit.

Consumption of propane running continuously:

HS2000 at 6483 BTU, 3.2 hours on 1 lb. of propane.

HS2800 at 9554 BTU, 2.0 hours on 1 lb. of propane.
