Anyone use a Chevy wheel 5x120.65?

with so little choices for wheels, i've been looking around the interweb and a few people have been using these on land rovers.

just wondering if anyone has any experience trying these out. i'm looking at some Crager soft 8 wheels in a 16" diameter. I'll probably have to drill out the wheel lugs. I also need to check out the hub dimensions to make sure they will fit over the hub.

just curious, i have not bought anything yet. they are about $30 cheaper then anything else I have found. Considering i'll be buying 5 wheels and tires, this would save some cash.

thanks

the stock wheels are 4.72" and these will be 4.75" so a very slight difference of .03". which in all reality isn't very much.

Also read about running Chevy rims, very temping since so many are available. Def post up if you end up going this route

i think i'll go to the junkyard next weekend and do some test fitting.

i plan on keeping the stock wheels and tires for around town and running some Treadwright 265 / 70/ 16's for trail usage.

go over to dweb and do a search about them (you don't have to post, just search). They are not hubcentric, so vibrations will be an issue

Would a set of hubcentric centering rings be a solution to this? On my E30 I had some aftermarket wheels with hubcentric rings and it fixed the problem. They are made in a varity of sizes etc...

Just buy the right rim...going cheap is going to bite you in ******** in the end

quick edit, and don't start the whole thing about lugnuts and being tight...blah,blah,blah...many have tried these rims and in the end ditch'em

Should work. I don't see why not. The rest of the world uses hub rings, not sure why they wouldn't work on a Rover.

All of this has been tried, several times, with the same results...bad vibes at every speed...

But , knock yourself out, by the time your done buying with all the crap you need to do to get them even kinda balanced, your at the same price of the rims Justin is selling...But don't listen to experience

And I can't wait for 3 pages of why it should work

How about turn that around? So then, from experience, why doesn't it work for Land Rovers when it works for all other cars?
