ARB fog light issue in bullbar

I am very disappointed with the quality of lights that are put into the ARB bullbars, I have had it only since Nov 2014 and the deepest water I have gone through was 0.7 metres. The drivers side light is 1/2 full of water, maybe I should put a gold fish in it? Anyway I have ordered LED lights to replace the halogen ones.

I'd contact whomever you purchased them from. That is a rare occurrence and if it were something purchase from me... I'd swap it out and get it warrantied behind the scenes.

LEDs????

I've been looking for an LED alternative to these lights for a while now. Could you please give more details of them, such as make, model, price, etc? BTW, my fogs had a small weep hole in the bottom of the lense to allow the water to drain out. Mine have filled with moisture a few times, but have never held water like yours. I also noticed an H3 bulb may work as a replacement. *oh wait, I just realized you are in Australia. that would explain the availabilty to the LED lights. Here in the states, we dont have that option. Shipping is way too high to buy something online from Australia and have it delivered to Texas. still interested in the LED model information....
Thanks,
Rick

I have ordered these LED lights - http://www.ledlightbarsaustralia.co...ce-products/products/18w-round-led-work-light will be interesting to see how they work and what mod's I need to do to make them fit.

it looks like the housing is in two pieces. You may be able to seperate them, and attach the rear housing of the ARB lights. I might get a set of some 4 inch work lights like those and play around with them too... I need a new project anyway.

Thanks for the info.

@Scott: Since you're in AU, shouldn't the water fill up the TOP half of the light?

Wait - you're in the Northern Territory. That explains it...

How do they mount up? Any pictures?

I am currently using a bolt to hold them in place with cable ties. I need to head into town this weekend and buy some steel to make proper mounting brackets. But the way they are held in now they are quite rigid but I think a few 100km's of corrugations will fix that.

Same thing happened to my 02 subaru wrx. H3 bulbs have no seal in them whatsoever, and the rubber boots covering them were more dust caps than seals. I drilled a 1/16" hole in the back of the reflector right At the very bottom. It let the water out, and kept them working, but the housing's were sealed and thus impossible to clean, so the light output was noticably diminished. I replaced them with Hella 500s, which happened to be the exact same diameter and depth for my application.

On a side note, Kurt's definitely not lying here. One of the fog lights in my ARB cracked recently and after contacting Cruiser Outfitters, they promptly sent out new lights. I have no reservations about recommending Cruiser Outfitters! Thanks again. :)
