ARB fridge- colder then set: set at 41, but shows 31?

New fridge. It's empty and plugged in to AC power. I first set it as 37, and when I went to check on it, it's showing 32. Then I set it to 41 and come back a few hours later and it's 31? Why is it running 10 degrees colder than set? Is it messed up? Or maybe reading funny because it's empty? I don't want to freeze my first load of beer!

Add some bottles of water or beer to try and get the best reading then calibrate based on your readings. the fridge is more efficient when full of beer

Haha. I found the thread. Went max plus 8 and now it reads what the infrared temp gun says it is.
