My Simpson II has the cracks as well. They've never been a problem for me, and I've put about 40 nights in mine. I'm not a pro, but I don't think any potential buyers should be too wary about this apparent recurring "problem".

You might check with ARB, we had a customer with the same problem and it was covered under warranty.

Just to let you know the replacement RTT's didin't have ladders with them. There is someone on another forum that bought one of the replacements and it didn't have one. It caused a problem and after some language and accusations the thread was deleted.

I'm still wondering about the outcome.

That would be on a case by case situation as I've dealt with a selection of warranties all of which came with the ladder.
