Picked up my ARB 2 weeks ago and finally got a break in the weather to install it on my Tacoma D-cab. Some of the instructions were a little vague, but anyone that can turn a wrench should be able to figure it out.
The mounting brackets come from the factory for side mounting. If you wish to open the tent from the rear of the vehicle, each end of the bracket must be trimmed and dressed.
You will need to acess the inside of the tent through a window or door to tighten the mounting bolts.
Brackets mounted to bottom of tent.
While wrangling the tent in the driveway, the foam mattress started to slide out, so I decided to remove it altogether. It helps shave some weight while hoisting the tent on the roof. The mattress probably weighs close to 30lbs.
Simply install and tighten the supplied brackets to your roof rack of choice, in my case it was Yakima load bars.
Pop the tent open and install the ladder with the supplied hardware.
The first victim in the tent.
After closing the tent, install the cover by sliding it and the zipper into the molded channel that lines the entire base of the tent.
I am totally stoked on this tent, it was windy the day I installed it, around 40mph gusts, and the tent took it all in stride.
Ready for some desert riding the first week of April. I'll post more after I use it.
Hope this gets everyone as fired up as I am for spring camping.:victory:
