If by "ARB" snorkel, you mean safari snorkel, than i would ask "Trail Monkey" on the forum, he has an LJ and i'm pretty sure he has a safari snorkel. I might be wrong though...

Second, I know some people mount their snorkels about 1/2" forward to help with the issue.

The half inch forward is a good tip. I installed mine per instructions and have to loosen the upper mounting bolts on the snorkel to get the door off. No big deal, but just one more step.
