Are there any wide hardshells other than Baroud?

Short version - Trying to find some "wider" hardshell tents. What's out there other than the XXL Barouds?

Longer version - I head out often with my wife and son. Currently, we all three sleep in the RTT. We've had a lot of different tents and I've loved the hardshells we've had BUT they're always just a hair too small. I'm currently using a CVT Rainier which is nice but I'd really like to get back into a hardshell for the ease of setup. If I can't find something, I'm considering the iKamper tents but thought I'd ask around here first since you guys seem to know a lot about all kinds of brands I've never heard of.

Roof nest just released a version like the iKamper as well as a company called torro off road.

I’m not sure what the roof nest is made of, but the Torro claims to be an ABS shell.

I had an iKamper and I can tell you the shell is super thin fiberglass.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check out the new Roofnest.

About to search here but has anyone dealt with Autohome USA? I was looking at their "large" tents which look to be 63 inches wide and that would be perfect! They even have a clamshell (the Columbus model). Seems pretty nice ....

There are a bunch of knock off iKampers showing up in the US recently. They are in no way up to the quality level of IKamper tents. In the hundreds of Skycamps we (Rhino Adventure Gear) have sold and installed in the last 2 years, we haven’t had any structural shell defect or failure. I do not know of any hard shell tent that has a wider footprint than 64” on the JB XXL tents either. The Skycamp is 54” wide but gives you about 83” shoulder to shoulder width inside.

Check out https://www.defendersnorthwest.com/ up in the PNW, they have the Autohome tents on display.

And in addition to the 63" width they also offer the XL which is 70" wide.

Hi Adam,

My name is Logan and I work with Roofnest. Not only that I use my Falcon on a weekly basis to get out and camp even at the ski resorts... Gotta get first tracks haha. As stated above we just released our newest tent model the "Condor". This tent is massive! I've spent plenty nights in it and it is one of my favorite tents that we offer. It will be the perfect size for your family of 3 and will work great on the Raptor. I've gotten to know these tents inside and out and would love to answer any questions you may have! Let me know! You can reach me at Logan@roofnest.com.

Cheers

How wide are we talking? Last I checked, Maggiolina had several widths (and lengths) available. Check with Mike at AutoHomeUSA

I've been looking a lot at the Autohomes ... I'm looking for something around that 62"~64" width. It's going on the top of a full-size truck so width isn't really a concern. The CVT I have up there now looks tiny!
