Are these two tents both Mombasas?

At the top of the page under "Tent Units - Mombassa Expedition Series Tents" this guy is showing two different looking Mombasa tents, one all green and one with tan sides. Is the all green one the older Mombasa that was clearanced a while back for like $200- 300?

Or are they identical tents?

thanks,
dave

Edited to add, these are the pics under "Mombassa Exped Series Tents" not the very top pic which shows a Mombasa and an Oasis tent.

The all green one is a clone of the newer Mombassa/ARB. I can't remember the name of the other one, maybe tentcot?

Are you sure? He's selling it as a "Mombasa" tent. Got any links of where I could see someone else selling that all green one?

See my post in Trailers

saw it, thanks. I looked it up on Mud and it looks like he is saying he sells Mombasa tents. The RTT he is showing in the Mud thread is an AutoHome tent, and not the one for sale. I'm almost sure this is an older Mombasa (the all green one shown on is site), but I need someone to confirm it for me and tell me what the differences are between the models (pros and cons).

Notice his last post:

"Mike, you got me, that's my first RTT, purchased it from Rich back in the LoftyShelters days."

...regarding the green one.

Its a different tent than the one I'm asking about.

the green one is the demo model ,was only available to dealers as demo. ,I think there where only 5 in the usa.

it is the new style anyway.
but the ones available to the public are olive in color and also they offer a sand color one, but not sure if they still do.

they are not an arb clone, this tents where available long before they even started fabricating the arb, in that case the arb is the so called clone.
and are made by the same hands.

you can see the tent at www.car-top-tent.com

I have the older style mombasa tent it looks nothing like the ones you posted up... Those are the new style as has been pointed out...

**Edit LUISJG beat me to posting but this is the other side of it.
The old style Mombasa looks like this (sorry I don't have a better pic of the tent)...

I haven't spent very many nights in it but I picked it up for a great deal and I love the idea of a RTT I assume the newer ones have a lot of nicer features, but this so far has worked great for me :)

DaveM, As noted by Luisjg, the tents in all green where demos made available to dealers.

They were a prototype run of the Expedition Series (second generation) tents that Mombasa received before official production began.

As a side note, the Mombasa tents in the same Poly/Cotton fabric that ARB uses should be available shortly.

I just did a little review of the current latest model Mombasa RTT. This one has the improved ladder.

One of my suggestions in the Roof Top Tent review was that the cover seemed to rip too easily and too soon.
Mombasa has remedied this with a double thickness cover.
TRDParts4u actually took the time to read my review and let me know that they are now available.
$99.00 and well worth it. I just received mine and it is super heavy duty.
Nice to see that this manufacturer is constantly upgrading their product.
