Camelfilter.. 50mpg is nothing our late 01 Gulf got 60mpg driving back and forth from maryland to Maine.. The only reason we don't have the gulf, is because the seats were too damn uncomfortable.. Now I wish I had the Gulf back.. just for the engine.

If I had a longer commute, I most certainly would be looking at a Gulf TDI. Though, come to think of it, I am not so sure there is a diesel vendor in town...
