Awning on Cement/Asphalt?

OK, so I purchased my rack mount canopy for camping/wheeling/etc however it would also be really great for things like tailgating/car shows/etc. The only problem is it has stakes built into the ends of the poles and requires tie downs. Has anyone come up with an elegant solution for using them on a hard surface without doing any damage and keeping the secure?

yeah - think of the vendors at car shows or flea markets, etc. and their ez ups

As Freshlikesushi mentioned, I'm sure you have 2 containers of enough weight to serve rather than needing to bring something additional solely for that purpose

You could also go to your local sporting goods store, or even your garage, and get a 5-10 lb weight that is made to go on a barbell. I've actually used weights like this for something similar and it worked well. Best thing of all is that its not a big bulky box or a sand bag someone could trip on.

And really, unless its windy, it will stand on its own

Yes, my fear with that is of course the freak wind that picks it up and wraps it around the truck :Wow1:

I'm thinking maybe I'll pick up two of these:

and drill holes in them to put the poles end/stakes through and just tie the lines around some weights or something, thanks guys!

Anyone have any pictures of there setup on a non dirt/stone surface?
