Axim 50V Navtec, cases question

My lovely wife has decided to pass down her PDA to me, and I plan on using it for the jeep. I wanted to know if anyones run OziExplorer with a dell set up, or do I fork over large sums to
Nat. Geo. for my software fix.
Has anybody tried out Otterbox for a protective case, or any recommendations for such cases?

Gotta love technology, it's a wallet vampire sitting a close second to the Jeep.
