Great group of guys! Six dudes (including a 4 year old who probably had more fun that the rest of us!), five rigs, and fun times!

The snow was a combination of powder covered by a heavy crust - tough going! Chris took the lead in his dual locked LC when I couldn't go any farther, and we managed to go another 5 miles after that. The snow was deep enough I got high centered on the front skids.

Mark,

Thank you so much for this great day! I love the picture of Matthew 'driving' while on my lap. We both had a blast.

Chris, Matthew kept on saying "C'mon Chris you can do it!" and then "Oh man, is he stuck again?"

Such beauty, such fun, What a refreshing day away from work.

I gotta go get the grandson out of the tub, he should be just about out of gas by now.

I had the opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of a mobil Ham radio on Saturday. Chris, AKA Tortus, got to use my hand held for a short, and I showed him how a linked repeater worked. I was able to get out from south of Williams, AZ. to the Smith Peak Repeater south of Aguila, AZ., and chat with folks in Phx, Yuma, and San Diego. We were 108 miles from the repeater, and it came in clear and at an F7 signal strength!

Hopefully we've got another convert!

The trip was also a great demo for running low tire pressure. We all started at about 15 to 20 PSI, and ended up at 10. It really made a big difference for the Super Duty Ford diesel with a manual tranny. He ended up at 15 PSI on the front (the 285-75x16 MT\R's were dang near flat at that pressure!) and 10 at the rear, and he stayed in 3 gear high range while the rest of us were in 4low. The torque of the 7.3L is rather astounding...
