Back to the Vanagon, my past future...

So... after 2 months of "Stuff" I am focusing on my Vanagon... formerly known as Gangrene and currently referred to as Krusty... Krusty-Gangrene (great rock band name!)

It's an 85 lowered Tin Top with Westy cabinets shoved in it from the PO. It has a 1.8T conversion that really rocks, rebuilt everything from bumper to bumper... lowered with Weitec springs and Koni shocks, dual aux batteries, ARB fridge and the list goes on... so now I decided to give it some altitude.

Just had it raised with 2.5" taller tires and lift springs. Photos it doesn't look much taller, trust me it is... and I am having fun driving it! I had to be careful with tire size due to the trans and stuff. Next up new leather bucket seats... back up camera... new cabinets...

.... and a new top!!! (Yes he will try again!!!) I am looking at 4 options :wings:

I also plan on adding limited slip (Peloquin LSD)

Lowered... at a Syncro event (which one of these does not belong LOL)

Lifted a tad...

Nice vanagon. Love the lowered stance, but can appreciate the want for a higher stance.

Thanks... it's a brave new world, being able to drive pretty much where I want now instead of scanning for dips, pot holes etc :)

Added Caravan Black Leather seats up front... me liking...

Just another angle of the new height...

For sure it's cooler than an Astro...

LOL... had to remind me huh? :p

============

Trying to figure out next steps... gotta small list of stuff to do. Install back up camera, start on pulling out Westy cabinets and start fabbing new ones, purchase a hightop... working all of this into my RL crap that is going on :)

Just thought I would update my Vanagon upgrades... High Top time... I have a lot of interior work to do next, like starting from scratch with all new cabinets and upper work in the high top. Took it out for my first camp out the weekend before Thanksgiving... SO NICE! Claustrophobia no more :D

With the high top I found a way to hang a nice sitting hammock that expands, it was great taking a nap with the slider open...

**Ignore the black and red test pattern... the test did not hold up very well to my abuse :)
I have a million ideas for the new and different interior... will probably take me months to narrow it down to a few
