Baja Rack Accessories?

Has anyone tried Baja Racks accessory mounts for the High lift and Ax and Shovel on a Safety Devices rack?? They seam like they could be a good clean option.

The roof is not such a great place for the heavy high-lift... best simple exterior place is on front bumper, next is on rear swing out tire carrier. best for long term and out of the weather is in between the wheel wells in the slot where the factory cargo cover would go between 2nd and 3rd row seats.

They look good I think the Tubes on the SD rack are smaller but if there the same height it should work.

Thanks!

I have been meaning to examine the Frontrunner setup with an eye for rack mounting but tend to follow Jwestpro's view that having heavy things up high like that is not good in the long run.

On my D1 I cut just a little off the end of the 60" jack to get it to lay down in the floorboard of the rear seats-it goes door to door inside the jackall carrying case but I prefer it strapped down there to keep the weight low and not make the D1 any tippier than normal not to mention protection from the elements. Taking the jack on/off a rack is something that is a good idea as the alternative is often it will rust and fail to function when needed (even with PB on it and such, at least that was my first hand experience).

Does look damn good on that LR3, I haven't quite sorted where I'd put a hi-lift on mine-am thinking of adding that into the specs of the rear swing away.

I got the shovel + axe attachment. Here's a photo from a recent trip.

It is kind of pricey, but it's certainly heavy duty. And it's convenient to have those tools immediately available, yet out of the way. It's kind of ritual when I transition from highway driving to the trail: that's when I move the shovel and axe to the roof rack.

I had some second thoughts about the weight of the hi-lift outboard attachment, as others have mentioned. I usually strap the hi-lift (and other recovery stuff I hope I won't use) on the rack for longer trips. It's still up high, but at least centered. It probably makes a 0.001 percent difference in COG :)
