Ball transfer bearing for drawer slideouts

Anybody ever use ball transfer bearings for drawer slides? Seem you could just pocket them into the base of your drawer pretty easily.

My guess is, over time (especially with rough roads), these are likely to wear divots into the underside of the drawer, anywhere they are in contact. They are more for rolling stuff across, not supporting weight for extended periods in a dynamic environment.

Yea; that was one of the only downsides I came up with as well. I do like the form factor though, and they are inexpensive. On the plus side, divots would help to keep the drawer in place...

I used them for a large (24" x 80") drawer that goes completely under my travel trailer, side to side. I also have homemade guides on the side to stabilize it. I don't know if they have worn in divots, but they still work great after 3 years and 50,000 miles of travel. They don't glide as smoothly as side mounted slides, but the were cheaper and easier to install in this particular application- really limited access.
