Battery Bank ?

Can we connect a Group 24 to a Group 31 in the same battery bank, as long as it is the same brand/age/etc.? And, as long as the starting battery is isolated from the auxiliary battery bank, is it okay if these are different brands?
Thanks!

It isn't recommended to parallel batteries of different size in one battery bank because the one with the lower internal resistence will get most of the load and my deteriorate faster because of the higher current it has to handle. But if you have no other choice then do it. It's better than not installing additional battery capacity at all.

What is not allowed ist to serialize batteries with different capacity to obtain higher voltage. Here the voltage of the blocks will differ very fast and one of the blocks will then be deeply discharged during load and the other one will be overcharged wenn charging.

If batteries are separated during load it doesn't matter what size they are.
