I never heard of needing a license to purchase a BB gun. Just that the purchaser has to be at least 18 years old.

And I'm in California, which has laws for everything.

Laws are different from state to state, as I am not living in CT or have ever lived in CT, can't answer your question for sure. Easiest is probably just to go to the store and ask...

Here in GA, the correct answer is NO, you do not need a permit. Just need to be at least 18 years old.

Tell me about it! Here in MA. a BB gun is considered a long rifle so you need a permit to buy it. I remember being the only kid on the block with a wrist rocket when I was little! That was the bomb!

I might be wrong, but I seem to remember that you can buy one without a permit.
