Behind the cab spare?

dzzz

Anyone have a photo of the swing-down mechanism for a spare tire mounted behind the cab?
Consider a 13' camper on a 15' flatbed. One option is to leave 2' behind the cab for the spare plus storage. I looking for design ideas for that space.

One of the Guard units around here, has Pick up sized engineering vehicles. the tires sit behind the cab, with a simple fold out ramp of 8"ish wide channel iron. it has a hinge at the bottom plate/ base box, then another about 4' out. so the ramp folds over the spare like a box.

Saw this one awhile back and really liked the idea.

You could do a full "lift' with unlimited cargo capabilities!

I think I will do a lift later, but I would still like to keep the 48" 300lb wheel off the rear. Since I'm not attaching the camper to the cab, I like the idea of putting the spare plus house batteries directly behind the cab.
I can see attaching this section to the frame, and start the flatbed after this construction.

I don't think I want to try and roll a 300lb tire down a ramp. But I do like that design for a more general purpose storage area. That might work for a light motorcycle stored internally. The Hackney's stored their bikes behind the cab. I thought that approach was smart.
