I am thinking of replacing the DD radio in my F350 with a XM/Cell phone?GPS unit. Any suggestions based on what worked for you?

Thanks.

Is it safe to assume that the GPS will be for on road & off road use also? Most 'street navigation' gps devices do not support off road navigation very well although some of the hand held units do show fire roads.

other than that, I can help you too much since I've never found an integrated unit that fit my off road needs. For on road, I prefer a stand alone gps simply because they are easier to update with new map data.

I would want to have topo maps as well as street directions - some of the Garmin units and be upgraded with ad

ditional software that is pretty detailed on off-road tracks and vehicle trails. I have seen some units at specialty auto electronics shops, but was hoping that someone here had done some homework that might help me sort it all out.

Thanks.
