Need help deciding on what gps/mapping software I am going to use on my tablet set up.

Currently have an ipad mini but not opposed to buying an android. Have a dual electronics skypro GPS Ant.

What is the best app or software to use for this. I have seen leadnav recommended but do not know how it works in BC

Im new to this so thank you in advance for your time

My recommendation is trying Gaia. www.gaiagps.com/ You can get the app for either iOS or Android; if you have both devices just let them know and they will assist you loading on (2) devices. They have a very basic version and they have a paid annual subscription. I have been using it since 2013. Occasionally it has quirks, generally after an IOS update, but the Gaia team will fix it rather quickly. Additionally, they are very responsive if you have questions or concerns and more importantly recommendations for improvement. They offer many different map layers that can be downloaded to your device. I have used it on an older iPad 2 and my current iPad Air 2. The paid subscription provides many additional feature like being able to use an online tool on a desktop/laptop to create/modify routes and many more map layers for download. I personally believe their tracking is one of the best out there in precision.

I hope this helps.

MotionX GPS HD for iPad has worked well for me thus far. No turn by turn directions though, but the feature to download maps offline works well.
