Best time ?

Hi folks , I have a Ford Ranger and looking to find/buy FWC Eagle or equal , When would y'all think would be the best time to buy/sell campers , be it truck campers or trailers ? I will say this , "previously owned "FWC Eagles are rare as hens teeth.

Probably winter time is best for buying, and more for sale at that time.

Are you familiar with the Wander The West forum's Gear Exchange? Many FWC's and others are posted there. At the top of the Gear Exchange page is a "Pinned" or "Sticky" post with a compilation of recent ads. Go to the last page (page 195 at this time.) Link.

Lots of FWC's for sale pass by there. As for buying, IMO now through mid Jan seems very good based on my watching WTW's gear exchange. There seems to be a bit of regional bias as to when is best. For example here in the NW, hunting seasons are either done or finishing and the "Store it and sell in the spring theory" hasn't hit yet nor has the "I want to try a camper group " so NOW is as good as any. The advantage you have being in Colo is FWC used to be based there and if an old unit is OK with you they come up there fairly regularly. If you are willing to travel, I used the Search Tempest search thingy when I was looking for mine, (and found mine) if you are not already aware of it.

Thanks LD , Not afraid to travel , leaving in two weeks to visit my son in Seattle , then down to the bay area in Cali. I've already looked on Craigslist in most of the major cities along my trip. Ironically as you say, most of the FWC and the like campers I see for sale are in the four corners area and east [no eagles yet]. It does seem the mid size/small campers are holding they're value. I will say this now after your comments , I will be READY to buy on my trip.

Fall and winter are the best time to buy campers and boats or anything summer related, some people don't have the room to store their toys or can't pay to have them stored.

One in Kalispell MT. right now about half way down the page if you take a more northerly route to Seattle.

Thanks, I just sent him a message, we'll see where this goes. Very nice unit, does the price sound about right ? 2004 for $8500 OBO
