Between-Seats Storage?

Guys, any ideas for storage between the front seats in a Ford van? We're going to have tons of flashlights, batteries, books, maps, CDs, etc. that will need to go somehwere. Any ideas?

This won't be terribly helpful but I did a search for "full-size van console" in Google and came up with a few options. I have seen them, mostly in conversion vans, so I know they are out there. I just replaced the console on my Chevy Express engine cover with one that has a glove box (stock one had a open bin) so I feel your pain in needing more storage up front. Tuffy may have some options:

I'm planning on installing an over head console that extends from each side and down the center toward the back a little, for CB and Center station for controls for interior and exterior lighting, accessories and ARB locker control.
I want to keep everything away from and off of the dog house as much as possible. If a center console was easily removed then it would be no problem performing routine maintenance.
I was looking at Mastercraft RS bucket seats and I realized that none of them came with an arm rest which got me thinking about a center console that acted as an arm rest as well, however it would make passing from the drivers seat to the rear of the Van impossible. That's when I decided that an over head console is absolutely necessary. As far as the seats go I'm looking into adding a factory armrest to their seats..

My 2¢ .

I yanked a set of nice leather captains chairs (with armrests, lumbar and heaters) out of a plush conversion van at the junkyard that was a cash for clunkers turn in for $150 for all 6 + the rear seat center console/cooler. In the front an ARB 50qt fridge fits absolutely perfect between the seats, and for camping it can be easily slid back or removed & placed anywhere you want it.

F150 center console. Perfect fit & perfect color match, and have a ton of storage. I use one between the two 2nd row seats.

This is the one I have, but they make quite a few different versions (with different number of cup holders / color etc), but all the same external size.
Think the pricing is way off though.

Not the best shot, but you get the idea.

Found another pic. Again not great, but you should get an idea of height and width from both of the pic's. Length is about the same as the seats.

Ha! Used F150 console Buy It Now for $200?!?! Someone had some wishful thinking!

You do want to keep clearance around the doghouse in mind. You probably don't want to be removing every time you have to work on the engine.

So a.. what did you do with the stock front seats ???

I have an ARB fridge and I love it.. I was thinking the same thing but it really has no storage potential for driver and passenger. I do like the idea of the f150 console.. I can see that with a sub woofer mounted downward with some quick disconnects and raised up a little working for my arm rest for the Master Crafts... It will give the cab a TJ Jeep feel which I really like... Passing through from drivers seat to rear will be tricky as I get older and bigger..

Threw them in the trash - I posted all the seats in the for sale section and no interest whatsoever, so out they went.

Okay guys, working on getting one of the F150 consoles from eBay. A couple of them are ending tomorrow. Will just leave it loose so it can be removed anytime the doghouse has to go...

One of the great things about a van, is the ability to move to the back of the vehicle, without going outside; otherwise you would have a truck & camper.

If you put something between the two front seats, it makes it nearly impossible to move to the back of the van.

We currently use a rigid-sided tool-bag, between the front seats. The space is about 8" wider than the bag. If you move the bag to one side, it makes passing through very easy.

Something like this (I could not find an image of ours).
