BFG MT KM2 vs. current KM

While we wait for more ‘normal’ 16-inch sizes of the new BFG KM2 to be introduced I have been thinking about how different the new tread design is compared to the current MT. I really like the video on BFG's site which shows the tire flexes across its tread face when aired down. Also like the sidewall lugs.

I'm wondering if the lack of circumferential tread grooves will hurt the tire's snow/slush and mud traction?

What about noise, more or less noise with this design?

Anyone run both the current/old BFG KM and now the new KM2?

I do like that it is still going to be offered in 255/85R6 :wings:

I friend of mine put 33s on 17 rims on his Jeep, and they work really good in all the terrain we tried, and not much noise in the road.

With 16 psi, they seem to grip rock real nice.

I have seen lists of the BFG MT KM2 sizes coming out later this year (here on ExPo I think) and 255/85R16 is on the list :) Unless BFG changes their mind (I doubt it) everyone running this excellent size will still have the BFG MT as an option.

I just hope they make a 255/85R16.

Good news. Although the tires look like they could be noisy, I would be surprised if BFG would update the popular MT and make it louder than the current generation.
