Bikepacking in SoCal

I've been mountainbiking in SoCal for awhile and now I'd like to try a 1 or 2 night bikepacking trip. Anyone have some fun routes for a newbie?
I'll be riding a f/s 29er and minimal gear.
Thanks

The Angeles National Forest Has some nice areas ( most have been burned though :()

North of the Station Fire area is open to hiking / biking.

Where are you thinking of going?

Maybe out of Buckhorn or the ski areas?

Where abouts are you located? There's a ton of places out there. Personally i live on the edge of the Cleveland National and was thinking maybe riding across main divide and camping at Blue Jay Camp.

Borrego Springs.

I used to reserve as a firefighter out there and spent many night camping out about in the B-Springs areas. Remote, but help close at hand. 70 miles in an ambulance running code is a little long to some after coming of bikes but hell it beats the price of air medi vac.'

Borrego Springs as someone already mentioned. I've done a couple trips on the backside of Santa Barbara when I lived up there. Head out towards Big Pine mtn, and then you get alot of nice singletrack coming back.

Where are you located?
