Bits and pieces assembled.
Now to put it all together.
The goal is solar powered refrigeration.
Independent of the tow vehicle electrical system, 100% solar.
Thought is 200W of solar charging to an AGM battery to power refrigeration.
So, right or wrong, a fridge drawing 6.0 amps at 12 volts is 72watts.
If one could have solar power 24/7...... 72W of solar would work forever.
Given 12 hours or less of direct sun, 150W of solar would do it.
So 200W of solar should keep the food cold with 8 hours of good direct sunshine.
Thinking 2, 100W Solar Panels feeding thru #10 wire, about 90" and a 30amp breaker to the Wanderer Solar Controller.
More #10 cabling, maybe 16", feeding a 12V AGM Battery to a distribution, fuse panel with 6 circuits.
One feeding the fridge. Plus a couple of USB chargers for I Pad, I Phone,
Plus maybe future expansion.
So far ALL my lighting is AA, AAA and the batteries last me a few years so I doubt I'll ever "upgrade" to rechargeable lighting or hardwired lighting. The solar goal is purely to power refrigeration...... for now.
My son is due out in August, we live for projects.
