Blower Motor upgrade?

Hey I was wondering if anyone here knows of a better fan or a way to get more airflow out of the Blower Motor fan. Living here in AZ during the hot summer months my AC stays cool enough I just happen to feel compared to my wifes G6 that the fan leaves a lot to be desired. So just seeing if anyone has any ideas to get more air moving. I barely feel the air coming out but it is cold AC is charged and outside fan works wonderful.

dude come over to 4x4wire dot com and sign up and get in touch with the AZcrew forums. Great collection of montero enthusiats here in AZ, mostly greater Phoenix area. These guys have been there and done that when it comes to these trucks and always have great advice.. I think we are slowly putting together a campout soon, should be fun.

In the 10-12 years or so that I've had and discussed montero's online, nobody that I know of has done a HVAC blower motor upgrade on these. I suspect you simply have a bad blower motor and simply need to fix it versus trying to upgrade it. Either that or if your's is normal then the entire AZ crew on 4x4wire is much tougher skinned than you are since I rarely read about AC issues with them although I have read them suggest maintaining a good AC system. :ylsmoke:

Ahh that was my other worry is the fan is bum. I am more worried about my son since my Sport is the ride for us and he is only 4. I am fine with it, just seems to be slow to cool the ride. But the air comes out plenty cold just not very much of it.

Give these guys a call Village Auto Electric Service 18668445740 they are in mesa and electrical engine rebuilding is what they do see if they can do a rewind on your blower motor for more output.

That will be something I keep in mind, but I might try and get a new blower and try it, could be cheaper and I wouldn't have to wait till winter.

If having it fixed doesnt work out you could also either pull a used motor in a part yard or buy one from car-part.com

Well it looks like part availability won't be an issue since they have used the same part on every model. So mine must be old and tired otherwise I think this would have been addressed before.

Does the blower motor work in all speeds? Do you hear any irregular noises when it operates?

If the blower motor sounds like it operates normally I would check for vent leaks in the dash.

Yeah I get all 4 speeds and no noise but I do have to go looking for leaks, I have yet to get a chance to diag the problem correctly. Although I haven't ever felt and air coming from places it shouldn't be. I just feel like it should have more power than it does. And with how little air flows out it would have to be a huge leak that I would feel with out much effort.

It might also just be a sport issue, I am posting this here and a sport specific forum. Here because of the vast overall experience with the Monteros and their inner workings, and of course the sport because it is specific to what I own. Many of the sport guys have problems with the A/C, design is what most have talked about but no one there has any issues with fan speed like I do.

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Probably a worn out blower motor or leak in the dash i'm guessing, also possibly the blend door not fully closing. You can see the blend door if you let the glove box all the way down (removing the stops to let it hang).

X2 for posting up in the Az section of 4x4wire.com
