Hi everyone. After only one year, we are selling our barely used Bruder EXP-8. With less than 20 days of total use, it's essentially untouched.

Key information:
  • The trailer is currently based on the east coast of Canada (PEI).
  • The trailer is made by Bruder in Australia and was imported to Canada in late July 2023. It was stored indoors from November 2023 to May this year.
  • The model is the EXP-8. View the link for all of the pertinent details for the trailer.
  • The trailer is standard, with the only custom option from Bruder being a second bunk bed (we are a family of 5).
  • The trailer has a Transport Canada plate welded to the frame (making it easy to import to the USA, or use in Canada now), and has all Canadian taxes/import duties paid.
  • Asking Price: $200K USD

Why are we selling it already?

In a classic dad move, I bought the trailer hoping my family would share my vision. With all the open crown and public land in Canada and the stunning nature accessible with a trailer like this, I dreamed of spending weeks in the wilderness together. However, my three young kids would much rather go to campgrounds than endure bumpy logging roads for hours without a playground. These trailers aren’t made to just sit on a smooth campground pad! This rig truly deserves to be used by someone who will take full advantage of its rugged suspension system.

What do we think about the trailer and Bruder, the company?

I can’t say enough good things about this trailer. The build quality is outstanding—it's more reminiscent of a high-end yacht in terms of fit and finish than a typical RV or trailer. Everything feels over-engineered and built to last. The off-grid capabilities are incredible! With the massive solar array and onboard battery capacity, you’ll never be short on power. I often ran the air conditioning at night without worrying about draining the battery. Plus, the diesel hot water and heating system is both reliable and fuel-efficient. As for the company, I initially had concerns about support from Australia to Canada. However, I've had two interactions with their support team so far, and both were excellent experiences.

Build times for these trailers are over a year. If you are seriously interested in an EXP-8 from Bruder and you are based in North America, this unit is ready to go now. I would be happy to set up a time to give you a video tour.

Cheers!

Additional photos

The left side of the trailer. This is the main entrance door, with a large window over the sink/counter. The three pull-down tables are super convenient. The "garage" storage area is at the back of the trailer in this photo.

The rear of the trailer. The diesel heater fuel tank is on the bottom left of this photo, and the winch on the bottom right.

IMG_2610.jpeg

The right side of the trailer. The storage area in the foreground holds the clothes/washer, dryer, heater, and air compressor. The door on this side goes right into the bathroom.

Front right view. The toilette cassette access door is here.

View as you step into the trailer. The fridge is on the left, and the bathroom door is straight ahead. Wine rack to the right.

IMG_2592.jpeg

Looking into the trailer. In this view, the top bunk is installed, and the double bed is set up.

IMG_2594.jpeg

This is the "three-bed" setup. Bunk up top, double bed setup where the dinette is normally.

IMG_2595.jpeg

This is the "four-bed" setup. Two bunks, a double, and the queen. The top-bunk is non-standard, and was added at our request. We leave it up there during the day as a massive shelf to store pillows, sleeping bags, you name it. When seated at the dinette it is high enough to not interfere. Nice!

And some more photos:

Master bedroom. We upgraded the mattress to a 10" foam mattress. Really comfortable. Lots of storage in here on both sides of the bed. Wireless chargers next to both sides.

IMG_2600.jpeg

A view from the front of the bed looking toward the front of the trailer.

IMG_2601.jpeg

A view into the bathroom / mudroom.

IMG_2602.jpeg

I am 6'2" and there is lots of room in here! The shower runs hot! With 300L/80G of water on board, there is plenty of capacity.

IMG_2604.jpeg

A view into the "garage" the largest storage area on the trailer. We have a brand-new, never used cassette for the toilet. The blue hose is for connecting up to a wild fresh water source (like a stream, etc...). When connected, you draw directly from that source, completely bypassing the onboard tanks.

IMG_2605.jpeg

This is on the opposite side of the trailer to the garage. The clothes washer/dryer is here, as is access to the diesel heater and air compressor.

IMG_2606.jpeg

A view directly into the bathroom/mudroom from the right side of the trailer. The white box is where you plug in the outdoor shower hose.

Plenty of room - well appointed, lots of storage. Well thought out!
