building my own

Hi everybody!
I'm new here but a long time Jeep nut and am building my own off highway trailer. I was looking at all of the threads and thought I'd join up. I used to belong to another forum but it got pretty juvenile the last couple of years and I just didn't like it anymore. Anyway, I have been interested in an AT style tug along for quite a few years but had some reservations on speding that kind of money for another trailer since I already have a hybrid travel trailer and don't like to tow it up into the mountains during Elk hunting season. And I didn't need the roof top tent because I have a wall tent. So, I ogled the fabbers websites and came up with a plan of my own(semi ripped off). I started on wednesday and so far I have the following, 120" x 48" ladder frame that is probably overkill in execution with 26" sidewalls and 72" box. I still haven't fabbed up the tailgate as I am looking for a single paddle style latch that is less than 1.5" deep( have a 2"). ebay'd some wheels to match my '04 Rubicon so that I only need the one spare as I run 10 plys. but kinda want to know your opinions on a pintle hitch. I realize that they are loud but... inexpensive compared to the $200 alternative. After I get to base camp, the trailer will act as a duffle more than anything else holding all of the stuff not wanted in the wall tent i.e. wall tent bag, cot bags ice chests... any and all suggestions are solicited. Thanks, Jake.
