Built in 12v Engel fridge

I'm about to spring for a built in Engel SR70F-U1 12v fridge to replace the antiquated icebox in my '72 Alaskan CO camper but have a few questions -

I know some people keep their's on 24/7 but will the unit last longer by being turned off when not in use or by keeping it on 24/7?

I live in central California where it gets hot as heII (well, not quite) in the camper during the summer - would that have any bearing on the use of the unit?

My Engel MT45 has been running for over two years, zero issues on my 12v solar system. I have it set to 36deg... Mostly located in hot, sweaty and humid FL but I do travel to all sorts of climates around the country.
(Unplugged for cleaning)

I wouldn't hesitate to run your's as you want.
