Bumper options?

I need to upgrade the stock bumpers on my 2009 E350. Seems like most people go with Aluminess. I've also seen the Weldtec and Ujor designs. Anything else I'm missing?

Should I just bite the bullet and go for the whole Aluminess setup?

Those are so expensive though! On my 1st build I modified a F350 aftermarket bumper, easy enough and looked good.

These guys have kit that makes it more affordable.

Bumpers are an upgrade I don't get, if they actually do something sure, but if they add weight without adding function. Why ?

I didn't like Aluminess profile as I think they stick out to far, I looked far and wide and ultimately decided on a front bumper from Ujoint in NC, I am very happy and I think it looks the best. Aluminim and cheaper as well.

A couple reasons I have purchased bumpers in the past. First being a mounting system for a winch but the main one is a stout bumper with a hoop can keep a deer out of your grill. I don't like the idea of being out on vacation somewhere and having a dear disable my vehicle. Would be a huge waste of time to get sorted out depending on where it happened.

What....Dang, I must have missed rule that spending money on hobbies needed to be for practical reason only...LOL
