Expedition Leader
While I was at 4x4Labs I noticed an ex-fire truck that has been converted into a traveling WVO Diesel classroom. Their first expedition was from Alaska to Chile (Patagonia). Something about two world class kayakers, a modded diesel fire truck and a trip of a lifetime seemed like just the vibe for ExPo.

The truck is getting a new Toyota diesel 1HDT motor to replace the 4bt. They made a film about their trip which has been awarded like nine film festival awards. They are stopping at schools along the way to educate people about wvo.

They developed kind of a cult following in South America and were welcomed by every US Ambassador along the way. I'm sure you will be able to find more info about them. One of their major sponsors is KAVU (Klear above, visibility Unlimited).

Pretty cool idea (Scroll down abit).

Hey Jereme,
That is awesome, yes Seth Warren and I forget the other guy's name. Seth is from Park City originally and they are part of a "NARPU" kayaking squad which is a bunch of really crazy guys from here who are ripping pro kayakers. Ironically John (GreaseCruiser, from Proffitt's Cruisers) was in town a couple years ago during the tail end of Sundance and the Outdoor Retailer show and we were invited to their house for the inauguaral event they were having for their sponsors about the trip... I truthfully never thought they would make it as far and do as much as they did because they were a little uneducated about biodiesel and vegetable oil at the time, seemed really young and ambitious and a little dreamy, and the vehicle at the time had really low ground clearance and was somewhat of a tank, and they were extremely uneducated about vehicle mechanics... I should have known better that they would definitely make it.. :) These guys have come up a few times in the last couple days, very cool that they found Luke at 4x4labs (one of my favorite shops/cruiserheads)... I also know a certain member of this board is also helping them out for their next trip (sorry not sure if I can spill the beans or not)... But they will be carrying a certain accessory that many of us are familiar with for their next leg of their trip!

Here is their site, looks like they made a pretty cool movie too :)

The truck itself (a JDM super low mileage [I think 16,000 kilometers when they got it) formerly Japanese right hand drive fire truck. Powered by a 3B and H55F 5 speed (Land Cruiser drivetrain)...
