Attention all FG owners in South Africa.
We are tyring to put together a bulk order of 17 inch 6-stud single rims from Australia and would like to hear from you re your order requirement.
The 17" tubeless rims are far better than the 16" tube type split rims that we use; and which are also by the way no longer manufactured nor available in SA.
You have the option to order the rims already fitted with Trackmaster 37X12.50 R17 A/T tyres. See http://www.trucksupersingles.com.au/tyres.html
Unfortuanately due to our very silly import restriction of unmounted tyres into SA you will however not be able to import the Trackmaster tyres for replacement in future. Import of unmounted tyres are prohibited into SA to protect the official importers and to enrich our corrupt government on some level.... probably.
The only suitable local available tyre for future replacement is the Cooper 37X12.50 R17LT DISCOVERER S/T MAXX with a max load rating of 1,600kg per tyre. This should be sufficient for most of our FG applications.
The 17" Cooper tyre is also ZAR2,000 cheaper per tyre than the 16" Michelin XZL we have all been forced to use.
