Can I mount a solar panel over my AC?

I have an intech explore with the roof racks. I was wondering if it would be okay to mount a solar panel over my dometic roof AC. It will clear at the closest point in the center by maybe 2 inches, and the sides will be completely clear. The AC installation manual said the sides need to be clear by nothing about the top.

my intech does have a vent on the top, but its powered.. so if it had space, it could help keep air circulating under the panel.. I'd do it, but I had room infront of aircon.

If there is a vent up there, regardless if it is powered or not, don't do it.
The vent needs to think of airflow. If it is powered you will be changing the flow pattern. If natural, choke the flow.
Also the heat off the A/C will heat the solar. Solar output drops as it heats.
Probably get away fine if there isn't any vents on the A/C.

I've seen RV manufacturers (cant name any of the top of my head, just seen on youtube reviews of RVs) they put a small panel on the lid of the AC units for their solar package.
