I have a 2009 1500 GMC Sierra 5.3 liter z71 4x4 truck and I want to put a raven shell model on it with only an aC unit and camper jacks I also wanto to pull a skeeter Zx 225 tandem axle trailer with brakes. Can it do it? I want it to do 9 -10 weekends a year about 3 hours away.

Do I need airbags and a brake upgrade.. ? If so what type of air bags?

I want a place to sleep that's dry , Cold Warm and can sleep two adults on fishing trip. Anything I should know in advance.

Most all trucks , even 3/4 tons and up behave a lot better with airbags. I'm not familiar with your truck or trailer, but I would imagine you are going to end up with several hundred pounds of tongue weight. What's your payload?
A Mach 8 rooftop ac is around a 100#. Unless you need them while camping , I would remove the jacks, they are heavy.

im pretty sure u will have no problem with the stock truck and raven shell. and i would guess your talking rear window a/c. check trucks payload capacity and and tongue weight of trailer. most of your trailer weight should be carried on that tandom axle. i have always had air bags. firestone or airlift. im sure u wont need them for weight on the stock axle but u probably will sag. I dont like sag. as it puts a little stress on yur front end components. the bags will level u and provide a comfort ride. just my opinion.

My pay load is about 1200-1500 pounds based on what I have read.. I have read that it's best to have my trucked weighed an subtract that from the gvwr.. I am going to look at add some airbags to prevent sag.

I would recommend putting the air bags in. Keep an eye on the trannny temperature as well. You may need to do something to keep the temp down.
