Carnet de Passage (CPD) to Africa - HELP!

Hey!

We are Brazilians and have a Brazilian Overlander Truck in which we are doing a two years world trip with our family.

We’re now at Mexico and heading south in Central America. Our dream is to send the truck to Africa after reaching Costa Rica or Panama.

The problem is that we don’t have a CPD (Carnet de Passages en Douane) because Brazil doesn’t issue it anymore. As the CPD is very requested in Africa we’re in a very sad situation, since we can’t have the CPD issued by our original country and we need some other country to issue that for us. So, we need a country to issue a CPD for us!

Has anyone ever managed to ship to South Africa or Namibia a vehicle without CPD?
We know we maybe can cross the borders, but we don't know if we are able to ship the truck to South Africa or Namibia without the CPD.

Any information would be very helpful!

Thank you and safe travels!

I believe you can't ship into those countries without a CDP. But you can just drive in over a border from any neighbouring country. So just ship to another country - Angola maybe? Very active 4x4 community there who I'm sure can advise...
Or ship to Portugal/Spain/Morocco and drive down the west coast which is the best part of Africa by far! ;-)
