I have one of these cases cool case here and just ordered new foam for it. (My old foam was over 20 years old) any-who does anyone know how I can cut the stuff? I need to add slots for camera gear, etc...

I have one of these cases cool case here and just ordered new foam for it. (My old foam was over 20 years old) any-who does anyone know how I can cut the stuff? I need to add slots for camera gear, etc...

Using a black marker, draw the outline of your gear, onto the foam. Then, have someone press down on both sides of each straight line (about 2" away from the line). As you cut through the line, the foam will separate, and make it easy to finish each cut.

Practice a few cuts on some other foam rubber first.

You can do this on your own, by pressing down with two fingers on one hand, while cutting away from that hand, with the other hand. I still recommend two people. :friday:

Put the foam in the freezer for a couple of hours - it will become firmer. Then cut it with a serrated bread knife.
