Catalytic Heater Without Safety Shut-Off?

I have a Little Buddy Heater that I really like, but above about 9k feet, the thin air trips the safety mechanism and makes it unusable.

Does anyone know of either a way to disable that safety feature or a different catalytic heater that doesn't have one? I won't be using it overnight, just to warm things up a touch in the morning and before bed, so I'll be able to monitor it safely.

How about the old Coleman white gas ones? I already carry white gas for my stove/lanterns and I've found the ability to add a bit of pressure to the system with the plunger very helpful at higher altitudes when performance starts to degrade a bit, so that might be an ideal solution, as long as they're safe (i.e., catalytic) and won't make everything smell like fuel.

The shutoff on the Big Buddy heaters is very crude - when there is less oxygen the pilot flame burns less vigorously and doesn't make it all the way to the thermocouple. Theoretically it would be possible to bend the thermocouple mount to bring it closer to the pilot light burner. I am not saying you should try that, but it may solve your problem......
