Catback options?

Some bastard stole the cat out of my 4Runner last night. To make matters worse is that the rear flange that connects the rear cat pipe to the main exhaust pipe was cut out too. Now I'm looking at replacing both pieces (and it ain't gonna be cheap either!) With 203k on it, I suppose it was time to replace it anyway.

I'm looking for some options for a catback. I work for Toyota, so I can get a TRD piece for a pretty decent price but was wondering if there are other options out there or if I should just get a stock replacement again. For the cat, I'm going to have to suck it up and get a factory one. This thing needs to pass smog for many years to come and buying a cheap aftermarket one is only to going to last so long.

I have a barely used five year old Magnaflow (JBA) sitting in the basement. My opinion, but it sounds funky. Not throaty at all but that "rice burner" sound. I'll use it if and when I have too.
There are many occasions when I've said to myself, I should have stuck to stock. This was one of them.

I think TRD and Jardine are the only 3rd gen options for some reason. Also heard they weren't producing the jardine ones anymore.

I'd just go TRD if you get a discount, too pricey without though imo.

Toyota cat $1192
Toyota exhaust $500

TRD catback $ Less than Toyota exhaust
Aftermarket bolt-in cat $175

Now I need to find someone outside of CA to ship the new cat to as I can't ship one to CA. I know someone who makes several trips to Las Vegas each week so I might try him. I've ordered the TRD exhaust and will hopefully have everything by next week. Man, this blows. Merry Christmas to us!

that sucks dude. sorry about that...

Hey, by the way, I'll be up in ontario in January. We're taking Melissa's drama class to a festival @ Los Osos high school.

You anywhere near there?

I would pick up an aftermarket weld on cat. I run a universal magnaflow cat on my 93 toyota street truck and it works great and allows for more flow over stock. As for a catback I would not buy a prefabbed one as they are generally overpriced plus shipping is $. What I've always done is gone to a reputable exhaust shop and had a custom cat back compression or mandrel bent with a universal magnaflow or flowmaster muffler. Saves money, lasts forever, and works great.
