Center of gravity question

I know if I put individual scales under each tire, I'll get a good idea of where the center of gravity is on the truck.

How do I find out how HIGH the center of gravity is?

With the lift and camper, I want a way to KNOW where my exact center of gravity is, so that I can see how it compares with other trucks.

I don't think there is an easy practical method of finding the C of G. The only way of locating it I can think of is to tilt the vehicle until it reaches the point of wanting to roll over. This is when the C of G is just outside the base of support, (the footprint created by your 4 tires). You would have to do this side to side and front and back to locate the C of G.

Here's a decent explanation of how to do this with a vehicle.

I can't belive someone went to all that trouble to mathematically calculate that.

I was figuring it could be done (if you were crazy enough) with a few people holding safety lines to stop the roll over, marking the point on the vehicle's exterior with chalk.

Seems like the type of thing you want to do with someone elses's rig after a few beers :)
