Just picked up (5) BFG MT 255/75/17 for $100 a tire. Tires + lifetime balancing / rotations, new valve stems, including tax cost me $615 OUT THE DOOR from Discount Tire. They matched prices found on Tirerack and othe online sources.

The tires are the original equipment size for the 07 to current Jeep Rubicon however should fit nicely on the current Taco, T4R or FJ.

Here are the tire specs:
Width: 10:03
Diameter: 32:05
6 ply

The tire has decent reviews, being 6 ply vs. standard MT 10 ply might help the tire ride better when used with the lighter Toyota vehicles.

Just FYI if you are in the market for tires. I preferred a 265/70/17 but with 255 being half the price I had to jump on it.

I run the 255/75/17 BFG M/T on my FJC...great size tire for a stock FJ.

I got the same set of tires (4) from tire rack $415 and WalMart mount and balance $82 because of my TPMS.

Sounds like about the same deal, I just bought (5), to have a matching spare.

I am modifying a 03 GX470 and have followed your GX build. How do you like the Daystar 1" spacer lift? I am up in the air about using the 1" or going for the 2.5".

I havn't installed the 1.25"spacers yet (still new). My MT's gave it about 1'' already of lift. I didnt have to cut any thing and no rub. I trying to hold back from making mods to it. I did little things that can be reverse. I waiting to see what 5th gen 4Runner or 2nd gen GX Toyota comes out with next.

Great tires. I have been running them for several months now to include tons of highway time, snow, one reall muddy logging road, and a couple of slow speed rock crawling style trail and they have done great. The on street manners are very good, not too load at all. We got a ton of snow here in Vegas this winter (global warming?) so I really got to feel them on icy wet streets. They worked fine.

At this point, they are simply the best deal out there IMO if you are looking for a high quality tire that is approx 32" tall and not too wide. I too got 5 mounted and balanced for approx $600.

Combine that with discount tires $70 mail in rebate and you have quite a deal:

"Between March 12th and April 4th, 2009, receive a $70 Mail-In Rebate when you purchase any set of four Michelin Tires or select sets of four BFGoodrich Tires (all models except Precept)"

I've been running some from a JK for about a year +, I got them before the JK guys knew what they were getting rid of when upgrading tires, since they've started getting stingy. I saw some on tirerack.com for $92 a few weeks ago. I'll do it again for this DD.

16 Years on ExPo. Whoa!!
for a couple days last year year it was either an error or temporary clearance but tirerack was selling them for only $64 each. I worked out about $300 shipped for 4 if I remember correctly... I was really on the fence personally as I was between it and much more expensive 33 x 10.5 ATs but ended up going AT for wintertime purposes...

Deal got even better

Discount Tire has a $70 mail in rebate on any set of (4) BFG's (except Precept) from March 12th until April 4th.

They still provided me the same deal mention above and now I can mail in a rebate and get an extra $70 off. Boy I am sure glad they had to order my tires on March 11th so my purchase wasn't effective until today. Hard to pass up. :smiley_drive:

How did you swing that? The guys I'm talking to at Discount Tire are telling me they will either match the tirerack price or use the rebate, but not both...

You are getting a killer deal!

They should be independent of each other, the rebate is processed outside the store. In fact you can submit the rebate online, the rebate processing company will receive verification you purchased (4) tires that meet the rebate criteria from the store receipt, which doesn't include any pricing restrictions. Try another Discount Tire or contact Discount Tire Direct and purchase online and have the local store mount them.

Good Luck
