Collapsible poles for awning???

Where can I find a collapsible pole that will work to place in the eyelets of a normal tarp.
I was to secure one half to the back of my 4runner and the other end suspended on two poles through those eyelets with some rope tied to something heavy to complete it.
I CANT find the poles though. Any suggestions??

Tim,

I've been using these for a while. These are not only the stoutest collapsible tarp poles I've found, but they're pretty light too considering their strength. These are also adjustable for their height...pretty sweet.

I'm sure they can be found elsewhere, but I know for certain that REI carries them:

http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?productId=5957&storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&&ext_cat=undefined&ext_cat=undefined

I use 2 of them when I use a poly tarp, but 3 (one in the center into a grommet I added) when I use a canvas tarp due to the extra weight and to keep it from gathering water.

Here's a shot of the basic setup plus I added a poly tarp for wind/rain protection--we were on the gulf coast at the National Seashore on Padre Island.

WOW! thank you guys! I think I may have to get some of the cheaper aluminum poles from campmor. At $40 the others are a little expensive for what I need right now. Okay, I actually want those, but I just bought a scepter gas and water container and I just find my paycheck lacking to get the fancy ones!
I love this site!:wings: :arabia:

Those look perfect too. I ordered some already, but I hope they are of similar quality

Sport's Authority has aluminum poles that extend from 4' to 8' for ~$8 each.

These are cheapo quality, but I think I'll get a couple of years out of them. For 18$ shipped. It was worth it!
