I have pulled my camper through many rugged parts of CO and camped. Its a lifted Fleetwood Cobalt with big tires. There has never been an issue getting back into Crested butte MTs etc....however....

I am planning a 5-7 day journey from aspen to telluride via mtn roads. Can my camper make the swichbacks? I am not worried about lift or clearance, but i am worried about width of road and switchbacks....

thoughts?

Thanks....

I'll be in Ouray on the 18th through 21st on my way back from Moab to KS. If you can wait that long, I'm planning to take Black Bear Pass down into Telluride. Then Imogene Pass back to Ouray for a day trip. I'll be in a 2" lift TJ.

I don't know comfortable I would be towing a trailer on many of the 4wd passes. Some of the switchbacks are very tight but still possibly doable. On coming traffic could be a big issue though. I wouldn't want to have to back up on some of those roads with a trailer.
IMO:
Black Bear: not on your life
Imogene: Nope
Cinnamon Pass: probably ok
Engineer Pass from Lake City to Silverton: Probably ok
Engineer Pass down to via Mill Creek Ouray: Nope
Those are the only ones that I'm really familiar with.
