Compelling HDV: Post your links

Video is such a rich medium, but often lacks the sense of immersion and wonder that a still photograph allows. However, this is quickly changing and cameras like the 5D MKII are providing wonderful tools.

Post up your videos or links to others that inspire!

Patrick is doing some interesting rail work and time lapse projects. He uses a rail and does full HDR with multiple still images, then strings thousands of them together to create motion video- impressive. One critique is that some of the video looks too unreal, but the technique and subject is no less compelling.

Those are awesome! The biggest thing in video that I think is overlooked is editing and music combo. That guy nails both on the head.

This video will blow your mind.. everything is 3D CGI.. faithfully recreated many architectural wonders around the world.. Amazing modeling, amazing lighting, amazing rendering.. great soundtrack too... this guy has mad skills

Scott's mention of the "immersion and and wonder that still photos allow" rings strong enough to keep me planted in that arena for a good while- but these are fantastic! - I just got to see a couple of these, but they are certainly insipring.

Have to say I also enjoyed Travis' videos from his trip to SA.

Here is another video I really enjoy. There really is so much great stuff out there though, and the emergence of HD DSLR's is awesome because it's really allowing people to bring their creative ideas to life on a scale we've rarely seen before.

it's funny how vimeo has naturally become the home for high quality creative videos.. whereas youtube in addition to quality work, is also the home for the internet's trash.
