Composite Truck Body Walk-in box/capsule
$4500
in central Colorado
for 8ft pickup bed
recommend 1-ton truck
This Composite Truck Body (CTB) box is a utilitarian space that you can use as-is or build further to suit your needs. It includes bed rail clamps to mount it in your truck. Please contact CTB to check if a spacer is needed under the box to get the correct height for clamps and cabover clearance.
The passenger side has L Track on the five vertical frames. It is screwed and epoxy bonded to the fiberglass using the Gougeon Brothers West System epoxy hardware bonding system. The driver side has a bench, shelves and drawers. See photos.
We have the CTB mounted on a flatbed and used it for storage of kayaks, bikes etc. when camping with a travel trailer. We now have a van and are downsizing from the trailer and CTB.
Know issues:
-We bought it with a hole in the roof and some gelcoat cracking in the roof. This was professionally repaired and gelcoated. No problems since.
-It has small leaks that show up if driving for extended periods in very heavy rain- one of the front windows, two spots on the passenger side seam and weatherstripping on rear door.
-The rear door was blown open bending three parts in the door check system. It works fine as-is but the check strap stands out from its compartment when the door is closed so the trim panel cannot be installed until the bent parts are replaced.
-When we bought it one of the drawers had damaged slides and we have not replaced them.
See photos below.
Please DM if you would like to look at it or if you have any questions.
