Converter/ inverter charging

I have had many converters in many rvs over the years , charging with solar, shore power or charging while driving. Charging voltages ranged from 13.15 to 14.05 and everywhere in between. These voltages I'm describing are the 'floating ' volts. (After full charge)
All of the batteries have been lead acid.
Curious why there would be different floating voltages.
At rest all the voltages are similar, 12.6 to 12.9.
Anyone know this science?

I think with my MPPT controller, when in float, it monitors the situation and might increase the amount getting into the batteries. If for instance, the sun goes behind a cloud for a minute.
Also as the day progresses, my voltage goes from about 13.9 in float down to 13.5, still in float.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, side note, don't have solar YET. My charging is truck alternator or shore power.
Also I think my question is a little vague.
Basically, I am curious why one converter would stop charging and float at 14.2 +dcv
And another brand or another would stop charging like yours at 13.9-13.5 dcv.

I probably have better things to do with my time than trying to figure this out .

In my victron its all adjustable via the battery settings. I simply plugged in the settings my battery manufacturer recommended when I emailed and asked what the optimum charging profile was for my battery.

Well this makes perfect sense,.^^
I believe I'll stick with the notion converters are available in many settings, whether preset with a fixed maximum charge limit or variable charging/ floating option.
Thanks 2.0
