Folds and locks, looks pretty cool. Supposed to retail for $65.00. Don't have the dimensions though.

I've got one... they're alright, but you're better off with their "brush clearing" hatchet/knife/machete tool, they ROCK!!!!. But those axes are nice for backpacking eh. I'm lucky, my better half works for Gerber and I get everything at cost... yeah I've got alot of their toys ;)

Cheers

Sure do hope the lock open mechanism works properly, would not want that thing folding up on you mid swing. That said, Gerber always makes good knives etc.

Ya know if she was OK with doing it and we could work it out, I'd be more than willing to do it for the folks here on this board.

that machete probably works better than the axe. I have a small Gerber axe - similar to the folding but with a straight, plastic handle. The upside is it is very light... and the downside is it is very light!

It has no heft to it, and I prefer a little weight behind my hatchet. I got it for camping in my kayak where size and weight is a concern, but I rarely use it because it is so light. I carry a Sven Saw which I use far more than the axe.

Certainly in an ExPo rig I'd much rather carry a 'real' axe because I have the room and the weight isn't an issue.

but the machete... that looks sweet! I'd say the machete is more useful.
