Could this be the new camping grill?

Has anyone checked out the Cuisinart Giddler? I saw a commercial about this little grill and was amazed. So many different positions, and has a carry handle! CHeck it out. Looked real easy to clean too!http://www.cuisinartontv.com/

Yea I couldnt find them either. But using the right converter means doing away with having to haul propane or whatever, would be a plus to me.

We have a very similar unit at the office and that takes 1350 watts of power.

That is a lot of power, its almost 13A at 110V which is too much for a Honda 1000 generator and with an inverter you are looking at 120+ amps (more with the inverter inefficiency considered) and even the biggest 8D batteries are not going to sustain that for any period of time long enough to cook.

In general electricity is terribly inefficient at making things hot, gas is so much better. In the confined space of a truck its going to be hard to beat a gas grill.

I bet that thing pulls every bit of 10amps. The right converter is going to include a 150amp alterenator or a bunch of batteires. Nice if you are at a campground with power available. I can't see that ever being practical for boon docking. :1888fbbd:

I'll stick to my charcoal. But that would be nice if they made a propane version.
