At least the camper built for the Blazer platform was actually built to fit the Blazer body.... that Bronco obviously has a standard camper slid in there. I wonder how they're keeping dirt and dust out of that massive gap between the cab and camper?

Don't think that's a "standard camper" it's almost certainly a 4 wheel pop up. Because many SUVs in the 60's and 70's had removable tops, Four Wheel made adapters to adapt their campers to the various models, including the old (66-77) Bronco, the Blazer, Scout II, Ramcharger/Trailduster, and the newer (78 +) Bronco.
.
What makes this different from a "standard camper" is that on the 4 wheel campers, the forward part of the camper was open to the cab of the truck, there was no bulkhead so you could go directly from the driver or passenger seat and into the camper without getting out of the truck.
.
A short Google search shows that someone else is building 4 wheel campers again.

Of course, the ones they make now are conventional truck campers since there are no more removable top SUVs except the Jeep Wrangler.

Interesting information! I was not aware of that particular camper. Thanks for sharing.

That does make the Bronco more interesting, if indeed it has that style of camper....

I had the opportunity to see only once Blazer Chalet and it was pretty cool, not sure how it handled but it looked cool. I don't imagine I would do much more though with it than surf trips, forestry roads, etc. Overall though I like the idea on such a small platform considering all the other huge stuff out on the market as cool as they might be.

I don't doubt it's a Bronco-specific camper myself. Wes at this blog rounded up some ExPo links from years back on Broncos / 4Wheel, where Stan at 4WheelCampers had a couple of responses and photos: http://offroadaction.ca/2010/03/11/four-wheel-camper-responds-to-camperized-bronco-articles/

Regarding Chalets going way offroad, I never had the opportunity to do so with my former #1747, but our man Doug "1976K5Chalet" can likely vouch for such wheeling, and one of our Chalet forum owners spoke of a bouncy run along a dry river bottom in his Chalet which held together just fine, but he encountered a regular 4x4 pickup with a slide-in who was wondering how to keep the camper intact over that terrain.
