Crovel (crowbar shovel)

Anyone here have (or seen) a Crovel? Looks like an interesting multi tool. It's basically a folding shovel with a crowbar welded on as a handle. The shovel head is sharpened on one side for chopping, the other is serrated for sawing and there is a hammer head on the handle end. Plus about 15' of para cord on the handle for emergencies. Wouldn't serve well as a recovery shovel but could be a good camp tool. I'd like to see one in person, maybe OJ could do a review.

Looks a lot like the chinese military shovel...video is pretty good for some laughs.

I think I will keep my tools separate. I can do a lot with a folding shovel, but do all tools are not that handy. Really how much harder would it be to put a pry bar in with your tools. I have one in the truck always. I certainly wouldn't hike with the Crovel on my back. Still it is freaky clever.

The way that guy's swinging that shovel, I hope that he's wearing a cup. The music had a Russian flavor to it.

Does Batman know about this tool? I don't know about you guys, but I never leave home without a grappling hook.

I foresee a spectacular accident when what ever you are prying on gives way all at once and you hit some body part with the shovel end. I also don't see camping and carpentry as being a good mulit-tool combo.

My thought also about the prying ?
Yeah lets put a super sharp object on the end of a pry bar ?

Digging out around your tires just make sure you dont hit the tire eiher :)
I love how they have a meat cleaver in the side tool ?
And the grapeling hook cracks me up ?
And the stool ? Huh so you sit on the razor sharp shovel part or the pokey pry bar side ?

<sigh>

ZS pretty much deconstructed the viability of this lash up, whilst having a good laugh.

Especially at the price!

That gung-ho Chinese 'adventure' shovel is a hoot too, and the video is hilarious.

It's a zombie apocalypse fantasy tool, and little else. I keep a German folding shovel in my truck and it has been very handy, because you can lock the shovel head at a 90degree angle, makes for scooping snow and sand out from under cars to find the tow attachment points easy, but I'd be scared to be digging around under a car with this thing, you'd cut a fuel line or pop a tire in a hurry. Or worse end up lacerating yourself in the middle of the bush.

I think if a person is in the market for one of these, they'd be better served with a paratech tool or similar.

I have seen and held the Crovel.
They are made here in Arizona.

First impression was that it was a bit heavy but impresively stout.

I think the handle unscrews form the blade for use as a prybar but I did not actually use the Crovel.

I would like to try it, no doubt the one I saw was very solid but it would be interesting to test it's true functionality.
